EPISODE #596 ROOM 237 - HIDDEN MEANINGS IN STANLEY KUBRICK'S "THE SHINING"
Richard welcomes filmmaker to talk
about his documentary, "Room 237" which explores various theories
about supposed hidden meanings inside the 1980 psychological horror
film, The Shining, produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick. The
Shining, some cinephiles theorize is an allegory for the plight of
Native Americans. Others, contend it's a prism through which
Stanley Kubrick examines the Holocaust. And still others suggest
the film may be Kubrick's confession to helping the government fake
the moon landing.
